La Hot Spring

Situated 140km north of Kuala Terengganu, the La Hot Spring water contains natural sulphur which is said to have healing properties. Visitors flock to this spring especially if they are afflicted with skin ailments.

There is more than just healing waters at the La Hot Springs in Terengganu. Located in Kampung La, at the foot of Gunung Tebu complex, La Hot Springs is the gateway to the Gunung Tebu Forest Reserve which is popular with adventurers who come to seek various tropical flora and fauna or to explore rock tunnels, streams and river
The warm waters of the hot springs that run along a stream are very inviting. Many come to take a dip in the waters which can reputedly cure various ailments such as skin diseases and muscle pain.

The more adventurous go abseiling, trek along jungle paths and go caving. Fishing in the river and camping are popular activities.
The rocks are one of the attractions. Under a 20-metre high rock called Batu Bahtera (Ship Rock) is a 15m “secret” passage. Crawl under the rock and you’ll get to the other side. Continue walking another 20 minutes and you’ll come to Sungai Misteri. The river is thus named as it disappears into a large hole near Sungai Ping.

Nearby is a scenic spot, Lata Berangin, where water falls majestically down a 50-metre rocky surface into a pond. Other places of interest include Batu Katak (Frog Rock), Gua Kelawar and Kolam Puteri.

Belatan Waterfalls

Located about 130 km from Kuala Terengganu and 40km from Besut, it is easily accessible by all forms of road transport. The cascading Lata Berangin waterfall is an ideal spot to rest after a tiring and strenuous jungle trek.

Challenging activities such as jungle trekking and abseiling are popular with visiting tourists and team-building groups. There are 3 trails of different levels of difficulty. However, all these trails will take visitors through several interesting places such as Lata Berangin, Batu Katak, Gua Bahtera and others.

The Lata Belatan Waterfall is another popular spot for family picnics. The many boulders serve as a walkway on the meandering stream and it's easy to take a dip in the shallow ox-bow lakes. The camping grounds are equipped with full facilities including changing rooms, food stalls and a picnic area.

The Lata Belantan Recreational Park is a normal outdoor area with a stream flowing through. During our visit, the so-called waterfall in the Park was reduced to a trickle. Most of the water for the stream had sipped through crevices behind the waterfall and by -passed the regular "Fall" route.
The Park is also well equipped with cafeteria and an office
One extraordinary point worth mentioning is that this is the cleanest recreational area we have seen.


 Visitors here utilized the stream as a playing court for volley ball, with water flowing among the legs!
 Finally here is the waterfall we were looking for . A couple of trickle of water flowing down the massive rock.
 Anyway it will be a low waterfall of about 10 meters tall, if the volume do get large enough

Beside the waterfall, there are also many rapids and small pond which are suitable for swimming, bathing and playing in the water. Every visitor including nature and adventure lovers will enjoy the jungle trekking activities along the trek . The trek and trail  are well organise by the Forestry Department, to educated the many layman of the many flora and fauna that can be found in the forest and its benefit and the important of conservation of the forest and its effect to human kind.
Being blessed with many natural vegetation and beautiful waterfall, rapid and stream, the area is a great place to have a picnic with family and friends over the weekend .The waterfall here are beautiful and alluring that you will cannot resist to enjoy a dip in its cold and refreshing river and waterfall that are crystal clear. The small pool and stream will also entertain the many children here as they will enjoy looking and trying to catch the many little fish and little shrimp that swim along they leg and feet.

The Recreational Forest is 6 Km from sekayu waterfall and can be reachable by (highway) Jalanraya pekan kuala berang or 55 KM from Kuala Terengganu.

To get here, visitor can use they own transportation or public transportation like airplane ,bas or taxi from KL to Kuala Terengganu to kuala berang before going to Lata Tembakah .where you can use your own  transportation or public transportation like bas and taxi from kuala berang  which is a small town.

SEKAYU WATERFALL

Hutan Lipur Sekayu or Recreational Forest of Sekayu coordinated N04° 57.85' E102° 56.71' are just 1 hour drive from Kuala Terengganu which is located in the Forest Reserve of Hulu Terengganu Tambahan. Which is 15 Km from Kuala Berang. It was established in 1974 and officially launched in 1985.

The place is blessed with many nature wonder with abundant of flora and fauna .The Recreational Forest of Sekayu is one of the most famous recreational forest in Terengganu and a favourite visitor retreat from the dusk and long hour work.


The reason why Sekayu is very famous is because of its many unique treasure of such as its waterfall; a large and beautiful vertical fall with seven cascades water fall that had three different sloped level. Making this place a is very beautiful and charming for frolicking in its cool water while hearing the sound of the gentle water rushing down the slope.


Many people including me claims that the river here is the most crystal clear in whole Terengganu as you can clearly see your foot even though you are standing almost 1 meter in the water

The crystal clear and cold water that flow from the Sekayu and Tersat river and the beauty of the mother nature all around its will conjure a sense of peace and tranquillity making Hutan Lipur Sekayu is very suitable place for resting your mind, body, soul and also bringing your family for a picnic here and to take part in the many Recreational activities that can be found here.
Not much trekking to be done for lowest level of the waterfall except you have to climb the concrete stairs. Picnicking places and resting huts are along the way. Only when you are not satisfied with the lowest pool and intend to challenge the mountain, there the real trekking will take place. Even so,
is not going to be a difficult one as the mountain is not steep. If you are an expert in trees perhaps you can name some of the names of the trees along your way up. Sekayu is rich with Dipterocarp species such as Meranti and Damar Hitam (Shorea Species), Keruing (Dipterocarpus species) etc

All the tree and plant here are well marked with signage and brief description which are easy to see. The wild life service here also provide an area where visitor can see the many herb product and herb species on display in the open hall.In the Hutan Lipur visitor will also find the largest Collection of Herb in Malaysia at an arboretum of herb and forest fruit and rare traditional fruit at the Taman Pertanian Negeri.


Getting there :
Sekayu waterfall can be accessed either through Kuala Berang (16 km) or Kuala Terengganu (56 km). there are buses and taxis from the main road to Kuala Terengganu to Kuala Berang then taxis from Kuala Berang to the waterfall. Along the way to the destination, you will pass through some traditional Malay villages. Padi fields,
perhaps buffalos soaking themselves in the muddy water and villagers selling fresh corn by the road, giving you unspoiled country side scenery. RM 1.00 will be charged for each entry into the recreational fores

CEMEROH WATERFALL

 Cemerung waterfall is one of the most famous Recreational Forest in Malaysia as uniquely, it is the home of The Highest Waterfall in Malaysia .

Cemerong Waterfall or some call Lata Cemeruh is located in the inner land of Dungun, or about 30 minutes drive from Kg. Pasir Raja, another good point for trekking activities. Reaching 300m height, it is the tallest waterfall in Terengganu

TEMBAKAH WATERFALL

Hutan Lipur Lata Tembakah or Recreational Forest of Lata Tembakah which was develops in the years 1986 are located in the Forest Reserve of Simpan Pelagat in Besut.

Lata Tembakah is one of the most famous recreational forests in Terengganu as it is the home of the famous Lata Tembakah Waterfall and are the only forest which are majority and concentrate by the Meranti and Keruing tree.
