Pulau Gemia is a privately owned island, about 800 metres off Kapas Island. Pulau Gemia has white sandy beaches, crystal clear water, beautiful corals and marine life as some of it’s natural pristine assets.
There's only one resort on the island named: Gem Wellness Spa & Island Resort. It's the former Gem Island Resort, In 2004 they renovated the existing chalets and they refurnished the whole resort. And it got a Spa.
The chalets (Water Villa's) themselves stand on sturdy concrete stilts, hugging the coastline, with views across the sea offering a perfect holiday escape.

There are no bus services directly to the Marang jetty. In Kuala Terengganu you can either charter a taxi or a van to take you to the Marang jetty.
There are many boat services to Pulau Gemia at the jetty in Marang. The most frequent and regular service provider is Suria Link. It takes about 15 minutes by speedboat. The office of Suria Link is where you can park your car for RM7. inclusive security. Charges are per-day basis.
The island is considered one of the most beautiful island getaways in this part of the East Coast. With patches of virgin forest covering the rocky hills in the centre, crystal-clear waters and spotless golden beaches, the resort is among the few destinations in the country still unspoilt by development.

The welcome upon arrival was very special. The people is so friendly! We had some beers and a few hours later we went to our Water Villa. The Water Villa's are so so large, but everything is tastefully decorated.
The king size bed has a mosquito net. There's an air-conditioning, which makes a little noise. and there's a van at the ceiling.

We spend many hours at the veranda with a lovely view at Pulau Kapas, which just a few hundred meters away from Pulau Gemia. We enjoyed looking at the coastline at Marang, where the jetty is leaving for this island.
under our veranda we could hear the rippling water and we looked down we saw hundreds of little crabs.
Regularly we see large shoals of fish coming by.
In the morning we saw dorsal fins of little baby-sharks in the water.
The sea in between Pulau Kapas and Pulau Gemia is also home to stunning coral gardens and other marine life. The spot is a haven for snorkelling and diving.
   
   


The resort has fitted up 4 chalets for a Spa, where Thai ladies are waiting for you to give you special spa treatment and therapies. In the package we had was an aroma therapy treatment. Also in the package deal was a bottle of red wine, which was served at dinner. The dinner was excellent, cuisine worthy.
At breakfast there was no Nasi Lemak, but we had warm croissants and fresh orange jus.
You can go snorkelling without taking the boat out. There are many things to see near the shore: corals of different shapes, colours and sizes, sea urchins, swordfishes, butterfly fishes, parrot fishes, bump head fishes, crabs, clams and lots of sea cucumbers. We even saw a clown fish, complete with its ‘house’ of sea anemone.

If you hire a boat to take you further out for snorkelling or even scuba diving or deep-sea fishing.

Those who love long walks on the beach should go to the north-eastern part of the island when the tide is low. Just remember to bring your slippers as the rocks and corals are very sharp. The rocks themselves look as if someone had mutilated them with a chain saw, but that’s just the way they’ve been formed by the elements

There are many interesting little creatures to discover, if you look close enough in the pools of water between the rocks and corals. Hermit crabs, sea snails, oysters, sea anemones (try feeding them) and, of course, more sea cucumbers.
If you have no patience for pottering around, visit the baby greenback turtles by the jetty. Pulau Gemia is part of a turtle hatchery programme. Turtle hatchlings are cared for until they’re old and strong enough to survive in the open sea.

RHU HENTIAN ISLAND

is geographically located at latitude (5.833 degrees) 5° 49' 58" North of the Equator and longitude (102.617 degrees) 102° 37' 1" East of the Prime Meridian on the Map of the world.

Perhaps Pulau Perhentian, Pulau Redang and some other pulau are too famous and ‘over heated’ to many people, Pulau Rhu Hentian which is only 15 nautical miles from offshore Kuala Besut is not known to most people. It is indeed a new discovered and developing island in the tourism industry in East Coast.

Because it is so close to the mainland, Pulau Rhu Hentian is accessible through Kuala Besut 20 to 30 minutes by boat. The island is not resident at the moment. This no doubt is an added value advantage for holiday seekers. The ecology system on the island and the marine life remain unspoiled due to this reason. As an island resort in the midst of the Redang Marine Park, snorkelling and scuba diving around the island is the highlight the vacation here...

Jungle trekking on the island is also available... And then there is fishing and "candat sotong" is the main attraction... Guests can choose to fish either on the fringes of the beach, jetty or hire a boat to the open sea for deep sea fishing...
There is also opportunity to learn how fish are caught in the traditional way...

Though Pulau Rhu Hentian is a new born baby in the tourism industry in the country, some water activities such as swimming,
snorkeling and diving are possible to be arranged through some travel agencies. Apart from this, due to the tiny size of this island enable visitor to make a 2 hours ‘orientation’ trek as a ‘get to know you’ activity.
There is only one resort found in Rhu Hentian Island. The resort known as Rhu Hentian Resort. The island is best visited from February till October to avoid the monsoon

How to get there?

To go to Kuala Besut Jetty:
To get to Kuala Besut, you can arrive in Kelantan or Kuala Terengganu. If you come from Kuala Terengganu, take a bus or taxi to Jerteh then another to Kuala Besut, or a direct bus to Kuala Besut. The journey will take nearly one and half hour.

Alternately you can choose to start from Kota Bharu. You can either take a taxi ride or take a bus (leaves every 30 minutes) to Pasir Puteh and then another bus to Besut. On the whole,
the journey by taxi will take about one hour from Kota Bahru to Besut.
There are direct buses from Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Besut which take about 9 hours.

To go to Rhu Hentian Island:
Journey to the islands takes about 30 to 45 minutes by speed boat and one and half hours by slow boat. There are a number of boat operators in Kuala Besut offering boat services to Perhentian Island. The return boat ticket cost RM60.00 per person for speed boat and RM40.00 per person for slow boat.
Because it is so close to the mainland, Rhu Hentian Island is accessible through Kuala Besut 20 to 30 minutes by boat..

“A lot of people especially tourist misunderstand that these two islands fall within the governance of Kelantan.... all because it is located at far northern of Terengganu and near the neighbouring state, Kelantan. In those days during the old time ,The “Perhentian” or “Stopping post”they are called because of the role they played as a post for traders and fisherman from Siam and local (Today’s Thailand).Because they are only two island and are different size in the area, the people called its Pulau Perhentian Besar and Pulau Perhentian Kecil ,where the “Besar” and “Kecil” stand for Big and Small to different which is which.

Both the“Perhentian” islands are separated by a very small and narrow strait that contain the most crystal clear water at the island. But!! beware as the current is quite strong and no swimming and Kayaking are allow!! There are a lot of different between those two islands. Perhentian Besar is more of a vocational island whereas the small one is an island with the mixture of vacation mood and with local lifestyle due to Kampung Pasir Hantu a fishing village which is resided by more than 2300 villagers with completed basic facilities and also resorts and chalet and bungalow guesthouses.


The home here are randomly distributed in Kampungn Pasir Hantu. All the house in this Kampung remain in their original plain wooden colour without colourful paint ,except for the white and blue marine police station, Red and Yellow Klinic ,assembly hall and the school. because the clear blue sea and sky and also the palm trees are the best contrast and complementary.

All the bungalows/chalets that are on Pulau Perhentian Kecil are not on the beach! Here you can find convenience shops, local coffee shops also souvenir shops and soon a cyber café and etc. in the village. There are a lot of T-shirt, caps and batiks hanging and flapping by the breeze outside the shop and coconut trees waving in the wind Here you can find tourists who do not go out for snorkelling or diving will hang around here in the village or lay in their hummock.

It will be a waste if you come to Perhentians without paying a visit or have a glimpse to its abundance marine life. There are a lot of good diving or snorkeling points around Perhentian Kecil: like D’Lagoon, Gua Kambing, Panglima Abu, Batu Nisan, Tanjung Butung and etc which you can find a lot of Colourful crown fish, angle fish, shark, Christmas tree, Deer Horn Coral, Sea cucumber, sea urchin, squib, turtle and more

…..Colourful marine life in all shapes and size which will be fascinating the underwater world.

The interior of Perhentian Kecil are surrounded by flourishing tropical rainforest with a wide variety of wild life especially the wild and Crazy Chip and Dale“Tupai” or squire who will steal and eats your lunch under your own very plated which will make many delight in your lazy day.

Here you can jouney on a long trekking or a short and simple one. The Trails break into several parts. along the track. There are flora and fauna and also some wild Crazy Chip and Dale .monitor lizards, monkeys, geckos, flying squirrels, butterflies and many other types of animals in the jungle- sometimes right in front of your chalet that might impress or bring you much surprises.

The track start at Pasir Panjang and head to Aur Bay at the west side which takes only about 10 minutes. Then if your are not satisfy and want to go further from just Aur Bay .Head down to beaches in front of a local run chalet, called Mira Chalet to a trail connecting Mira Chalet with the fishing village. This part of trekking involves some climbing up and takes nearly 1 hour for you to reach Kampung Pasir Hantu and 1 hour back or if you are tired you can always look for a boat to give you a lift back.

There are rocky caves hills in the jungle which attract swallows to build their nest in this area which also bring some side income to the villagers who collect the precious bird nest from the caves. The bird nest collected here is just enough to serve the local market which is the resort.

Other than several recently built resorts, the rest of the guesthouses are in small scale with only basic facilities that stretch along the beach.

Perhentian Besar has longer and wider beaches and finer sand than Perhentian Kecil. Most of the beaches are distributed to its western and south eastern side, Teluk Pauh, Pasir Panjang, and Teluk Dalam are the most famous and popular beaches here..

Though accommodation is distributed over the beaches, Perhentian Besar is still covered by a lush rainforest. To the end of the beaches, you can find coconut palm in the white fine sandy beach and the crystal blue sea.

The island is gifted with turquoise water and many colourful fish, Standing in knee deep water u can witness many colourful fish swimming around your legs and little shark which sometime NIBBLE YOU TOE!! and small baby ray which may make u heart jump if you step on them :P.

To the south of the island where there is a beach separated by rocky edges. You can always find fantastic and colourful coral near the rock.If you want to snorkel there please bring a companion and stay far away and pay more attention when you swim near to the rock as the strong wave here can crash you to the sharp rock .

There are a number of trails leading from one beach to the next overland. you can choose to take the jungle trail. Anyway, all the treks are clearly marked.

The jetty at Teluk Puah, near the entrance of Perhentian Island Resort is an ideal place to go if you want something different than to lay on the lazy chair listen to waves and watching the stars in evening. Here during the evening time, the jetty light attract many squib that u can join in with other tourist and local at the jetty in“candat sotong”or “Jigging for Squib“to fish for squib” as all you need is just a line or a small rope with a hook or a pin and then u can go and BBQ your catch.(pls refer to Pulau Kapas). Sometime there are small metal or rattan cages or “BuBu” in the water with blue sea crabs inside. The BuBu is simple traditional trap set by the islander to catch crab.

The jetty is an ideal place to go if you want more than just laying on the resort lazy chair listening to the crashing waves and watching the evening star


Getting there

First, you must arrive at Kuala Besut for you to take a boat to the islands. To get to Kuala Besut, you can arrive from Kelantan or Kuala Terengganu. If you come from Kuala Terengganu, take a bus or taxi to Jerteh then another to Kuala Besut, or a direct bus to Kuala Besut. The journey will take nearly one and half hour.

Make sure to put heaps of sunscreen and a big thick book for company. The journey are relatively stress-free, Except the bus ride from KL to Kuala Besut, and a 30 min boat ride (fast boat, expect to pay more than the 1 hour slow boat) to Perhentian Kecil..

REDANG ISLAND

Redang Island, locally known as Pulau Redang or just "Redang" is one of the largest islands off the east coast of Malaysia. It is a popular holiday island for Malaysians, most of whom come on package deals to one of the resorts. Redang is one of nine islands, which form a marine park, and which offer snorkeling and diving opportunities. Access is from Merang or Kuala Terengganu on boats operated by the resorts; there is also a small airport with services operated by Berjaya Air fromSingapore (Seletar Airport) and Kuala Lumpur (Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport).

The white sandy beach, crystal clear water and picturesque scene made me fall in love with Redang island. I was touched by the glory of nature on the island, surrounded by the coconut trees.

It was an unforgettable trip. We stayed at Redang Beach Resort, did all the standard activities and mingled with other guests. At night, we enjoyed the barbecue, walked along the beach and sat on the rock enjoying the night scene. Snorkelling was most enjoyable. Since it was our first experience, there was initial fear which was overcome by curiosity. It was totally delightful to see corals, sea cucumber and colourful fish like reef shark, blue spotted stingray and clown fish.

The best was when the fish bit my finger and swam all around me. It was wonderful. This was my first trip to the island and definitely won't be the last!island and definitely won't be the last!

Redang is just like the Perhentian a Marine Park. It's located 45 km off the coast of KualaTerengganu is the largest of the group of islands dotting the South China Sea off the Terengganu coast. The island offers crystal clear waters and numerous dive sites for the enthusiast. Sheltered within the Pulau Redang Marine Park, the waters here abound with marine life.

The Pulau Redang archipelago comprises Pulau Redang, Pulau Lima, Pulau Paku Besar, Pulau Paku Kecil, Pulau Kerengga Kecil, Pulau Kerengga Besar, Pulau Ekor Tebu, Pulau Ling and Pulau Pinang. Pulau Redang is the biggest of all the islands in the Marine Park, measuring about 7 km long and 6 km wide. It's highest peak is Bukit Besar at 359 metres above sea level. The boundary of the Pulau Redang Marine Park is established by a line linking all points 2 nautical miles from the shores of Pulau Redang, Pulau Lima, Pulau Ekor Tebu and Pulau Pinang. The other nearby islands of Pulau Perhentian Besar, Pulau Perhentian Kecil, Pulau Lang Tengah, Pulau Kapas and Pulau Susu Dara are also gazetted and protected as Marine Parks. Today, only the bigger islands like Redang, Lang Tengah, Perhentian and Kapas have resort facilities for visitors. The management of Marine Parks primarily involves protection of the sensitive marine and terrestrial ecosystems by controlling the impact from human activities. These include waste & pollution management and conservation of coral reefs and terrestrial habitats.

The boat trip starts from the fishing village of Merang. This is a fishing village North of Kuala Terengganu. You can get there by bus. The boat trip takes about 40 minutes. Most of the boats depart for Redang and return before noon. Each resort has its own boat transfer schedule. This may change and is dependent on the tide, sea and weather conditions.

The best time to visit Redang is between April and October. Take note that most resorts are closed during the North-east Monsoon, which blows from November to March.

Redang island is perfect for snorkeling, swimming, scuba diving, jungle trekking, boating and canoeing. This paradise-like island offers crystal clear water, pearly white shores, a colorful array of spectacular marine life, a breathtaking sunset and what could be the world's most mature coral gardens. This is your chance to see and be acquainted with the local eel, giant garoupa, black tipped shark, etc. Chance encounter with the Green turtle and Hawkbill turtle is common. There are corals of every imaginable shape, size or color. The observant are rewarded with sights of flatworm, nudibranch, shrimp, squid, cuttlefish, stonefish, lionfish and pipefish.

No fishing is allowed within a 3.2 km radius of the island as Pulau Redang. The collection of corals and other aquatic life is also prohibited. The fines and penalties are severe and each year sees reports of arrests and fines. Activities prohibited and not allowed are:

    * Collecting and taking of aquatic life ( corals, shell or fishes whether living or alive ).

    * Fishing without a license & Causing Pollution (3.2 km radius), i.e. littering Possession of spear fishing equipment.

The waters around Pulau Redang also contain two historic shipwrecks. The H.M.S Prince of Wales and the H.M.S Repulse were sunk here at the start of World War II, setting the stage for the Japanese occupation of Malaya.

The trekking in Pulau Redang and its Village

Redang Island is still a very much covered by the Rainforest, thank for the government and local islande effort. The ideal time for going for a trekking is at a round 7’o’Clock in the morning. Where you will find the air very fresh and protected by the Strong heat of the morning mist.

The trek that u can find here is about 2.5 Km trail that lead from Pasir Panjang a beautiful beach to Teluk Dalam, where u can find a Kampung or village. The trail at the hilly island of Redang is fascinating in its own way.Make sure that you bring a camera.with and extra role of two. The trail is well marked and trodden as this place is a favourite path for local and some staff on the island that you may meet during they morning Jog. During you journey you may encounter a small stream and a pool alive with local Catfish,If you are lucky u may encounter Redang’s unique wildlife but harmless animals such as the shy Kancil “mousedeer” looking for food .(please don’t surprise or scare them as the Kancil here are can easily day offright...No..joking.!!) .

Sometimes there might be long tailed macaque monkey hanging on the trees staring at you,sometime on the tree you can find flying squire, along the way you will see many wonder that are created by the mother earth and also a very beautiful and scenic view of The tranquil and isolated bay of Berjaya Redang Beach Resort is accompanying by snowy white sandy beach . the trail will end at Berjaya Redang Resort

Following the properly sealed road will lead you to the “Kampung Nelayan” Redang Fishing village.The village here you can find house that are Centered around a small mosque which sits up on a small hill. You can find a mamak stall or local Restaurant for some humble food for a change ,Mee Goreng (Fried Noodle) , a cup of KoPi Kaw ( coffee ),or you could tried the famous Nasi lemak and Roti Canai here .

The most beautiful beach at Pulau Redang - Pasir Panjang Beach

Unknowns by most people,The island’s finest beaches is in the Pasir Panjang beach, and from my point of view, the beach surrounded by majestic green hills that cast a shadows in the simmering sea with a magnificent shoreline of fine powdery white sand and a coral garden immersed in a clear blue sea is a perfect getaway for holiday seeker.

BIDONG ISLAND

Pulau Bidong ialah sebuah pulau kecil di Terengganu, Malaysia. Ia terletak di luar pantai Terengganu di Laut China Selatan. Pulau bidong ,setelah perang vietnam meletus pada tahun 1975,maka ramailah rakyat vietnan melarikan diri dari negara mereka untuk menyelamat kan diri dari maut senjata api yang tidak kenal siapa.Zaman pelarian Vietnam bermula dengan kejatuhan kerajaan demokratik Vietnam Selatan yang disokong Amerika Syarikat ke tangan kerajaan komunis Vietnam Utara pada April 1975.malaysi adalah salah satu destinasi pelarian ini,mereka meredah laut cina selatan di dalam bot kecil yang di muat dengan begitu sarat,jika bernasib baik mereka akan sampai ke detinasi tujuan mereka,jika tidak mereka akan terkorban sama ada bot mereka karam atau pun di tembah pihak komunis vietnan,hampir 255.00 rakyat vietnan melarikan diri dan mendarat di malaysia,di angarkan hampir 1 juta  rakyat vietnan yang melarikan diri dari negara meraka lokasi mereka mendarat di malaysia ialah pulau redang pulau perhentian dan pulau bidong menjadi lokasi mereka pada masa itu.tetapi apabila terlalu ramai pelarian perang ini melarikan diri,kerajaan malaysia hampir hilang sabar dengan kerenan pelarian ini,dan dengan kerjasama UNHCR  pulau bidong atau lebih di kenali sebagai the litte saigon di istiharkan sebagai lokasi penempatan sementara mereka, Kesannya, nelayan tidak dibenarkan menggunakan perairan pulau ini pada jarak 182 dari pulau dan pulau Bidong diistihar sebagai pulau larangan .pulau kecil ini pernah menempatkan seramai 250.000 pelarain perang,pernah pada satu masa pulau ini di diami seramai 60.000 pelarian perang.untuk memastikan kehidupan mereka lebih baik dan terjamin,sekolah sekolah,bengkel,pejabat pos ,klinik dan sebainya didirikan di sini,turut di dirikan rumah rumah ibadat,kedai kedai dan farmasi di dirikan di sini,semua ini dengan bantuan kerajaan malaysia dan UNHCR seramai 4,535 bayi direkodkan kelahirannya. Pulau Bidong dikosongkan sepenuhnya pada 1991.setelah pulau ini di kosongkan apa yang terjadi???? selama bertahun tahun pulau ini sunyi sepi tiada sesiapa yang berani untuk datang kesini,hanya yang ada tingalan bangunan peningalan pelarian perang yang semakin hari semakin usan dan menunggu masa untuk rebah menyembah bumi.hanya akhir akhir ini ada yang berani datang ke sini untuk melihat sisa sila tinggalan pelarian itu,sekarang ini hanya yang ada tugu tugu peringatan yang di bina khusus untuk mengigati pulau ini sebagai penyambung nyawa mereka.saya ada bertemu beberapa orang bekas pelarian perang yang pernah menetap di pulau ini,mereka amat berterima kasih kepada keperihatinan kerejaan negeri terengganu yang mengizin kan mereka menumpang teduh di situ suatu ketika dahulu..sekian lama pulau bidong di tinggalkan sepi tiada siapa yang menjelajahi dasar laut nya buat sekian lama,


apa yang saya temuil di dasar laut pulau bidong amatlah mengejutkan saya,pelbagai jenis batu karang hidup di sini,saya akan paparkan kesemua koleksi batu karang di pulau bidong ini,koleksi gambar dasar laut pulau bidong ini saya dapat dari kawan saya yang baru baru ini beliau ada melakukan aktiviti skuba di sini.

KAPAS ISLAND

Kapas island is a small island, just over 2km long and 1km at its widest point, is just 4 nautical miles from Marang.This island is the island's most picturesque islands in malysia.dan it an attractive holiday location for those who want state of tranquility and beauty of natura, kapas island has many interesting places to visit. the fresh air surrounded by palm trees and plants rhu. for you to relax.

Offering a refreshing change from everyday haste, the place is so serenely beautiful and it's the kind of serenity that leaves one with a longing to return. Relaxation is the foremost occupation here.

Kapas, . Batu Tenggara, Harmony Beach and Batu Berhala are part of the island's Long Beach. Beyond it, are Batu Payung, Safari Beach and Derdak Beach, altogether spanning some 3.5km.

Snorkelling in Kapas

The reefs hosts an abundance of beautiful coral inhabitants such as the parrotfish, pufferfish, angelfish, damselfish; eels; giant clams; rays, sea urchins, sea cucumbers and nudibranchs. This is the place to really indulge in snorkelling. There is a wonderful snorkelling spot around the rocky outcrops just to the southern end of the long stretch of beach. The water here is shallow and it is best to wear a lifejacket.


In some places the water level at low tide may only be as shallow as 2 feet. There is just so much to see around that snorkellers often lose track of direction and may get trapped in the shallow ends. When this happens, they often panic and start trashing about and usually try to stand up in the process. This is dangerous as the seabed is covered with extremely sharp corals and can cause deep wounds. The other danger to look out for are the sea urchins hiding in and around the corals. Across Safari Beach and just five minutes by speed boat lies the secluded Gemia Island or Gem Island. The sea in between is home to stunning coral gardens and other marine life. The spot is a haven for snorkelling and diving.


For the advanced snorkellers, a night dip in the coral gardens is a delight especially on when the moon is full. The entire scene transforms itself and introduces a host of nocturnal marine life that are rarely seen during the day. The corals extend their feeders out in full bloom to capture tiny plankton washed in from the open sea, the nudibranchs leave their hiding place to feed on the coral polyps and squirrel fishes come out to play.

Other Activities

For landlubbers, there is a rough track through the middle of the island and towards the eastern side. Trekking for about 45 minutes through untamed jungle will take one to the uninhabited side of the island where mere human presence is a definite intrusion to the unspoilt nature and to the many birds that have claimed the area as their own sanctuary. If that's not your cup of tea, it is possible to hire canoes for exploring the more secluded shores and beaches towards the northern tip of the island. The waters two nautical miles from the island coast are part of protected marine parks of Terengganu.


Stay-in Kapas Island

There is no village on  Kapas Island, only chalets. During the monsoons, the island is deserted. Since it is so close - only 6km from the mainland, visitors seldom stay overnight. For those who prefer to spend a longer time on the island, places to stay here ranges from camping sites to dormitory to island chalet resorts. Electricity are available from 6pm until 6-7am only.


But if you are the type who cannot do without air-conditioning, TV, telephone, fridge and all the modern trappings and luxurious comfort in a holiday resort, then it is not for you. Neither is it for those looking for fine cuisine, karaoke, slot-machine games and the like. Relaxation is the foremost occupation here and it offers a refreshing change from everyday haste.

There are about seven chalets and a camp site on the island. Because of its proximity to the mainland,  Kapas Island and its surrounding waters are said to be not as pristine as those around far away islands. This has its blessings though. Most resorts here provide satisfactory amenities and service and are mainly clustered together on two strips of white sandy beaches facing the mainland, whereas the rest of the island is largely forested harbouring lots of small mammals, birds, insects and reptiles.


Kapas Island Resort is near the jetty and is the biggest and most luxurious resort. It has a small swimming pool. The resort has its own boat service to collect you from the mainland. Tuty Puri, is another luxury place with arguably the most of charm. It has standard rooms with a fan and the rooms have a shower. Also a Dorm. The hotel was built in 1993 and it is set on the prime beach in front of the beautiful white-sands of  Kapas Island


Beauty island Resort has bungalows with fan and shower. Also a dorm. Light House is more for the backpackers. It has a the relative isolation on a nice section of beach. Big wooden rooms. Qimi Beach Chalet is a medium sized resort. Good food. What you may not like : the limited space, whether in the resort or the rooms. Mak Cik Gemuk a big resort. Off the beach and without charm. Rooms for up to three peoples. Kapas Garden Resort. A-Frame huts without fan but they have a shower. The Dutch owner has a relaxed bar. It's a small place usually busy with expatriates.


Caution

Be sure that any valuables is locked in the room or better still be carried along where ever you go. Local islanders is always helpful and on the watch for these trouble makers. nyone caught on any unlawful acts will be deal with accordingly. However, they did not guarantee that your belonging will not be stolen. Mosquito can be a serious nuisance at dusk and dawn. Most resorts have mosquito net but for the outdoors, bring enough repellent.


For new snorkellers, bring along a lifejacket and a pair of fins and never, never step on corals. Fire coral is another thing to look out for. If brushed against, it causes a searing pain as if brushing against a burning cinder. This is another reason why it is always advisable that snorkellers should never touch corals and fishes for as pretty and helpless as they seem, they often have powerful defence mechanisms against predators.If you like fishing, there is a special place in the prepared fish.attention, you do not come in grumpy state holiday in september to january, because the seas..

TANGGO ISLAND

Located in dungun Terengganu,From afar the island resembles a person perching, so stood the name 'Tenggol'. 'Tenggak' in Bahasa Malaysia means 'to perch' but is pronounced as 'tenggol' in Terengganu's local dialect. For many, many years this deserted island retained its secret whereabouts. Apart from local fishermen waiting out the weather - Pulau Tenggol was pretty much left to nature.The only long stretch of beach on Pulau Tenggol is at Teluk Air Tawar and in those days, it was completely hidden from view by overhang of umbrella trees, which lined the entire beachfront. Tenggol was the perfect hideaway. local fishermen still moor their boats at Pulau Tenggol to shelter from sudden tropical sea storms. The other frequent visitors to

The only beach here is the only long stretch beach of  Teluk Air Tawar or Fresh Water Bay. The sand here are modestly white , The beach is are frequent by its permanent customer, who came here every 8 or ten year . From the age of dinosaur, many green turtle and hawksbill turtles from across the globe are driven by their instincts have returned to mate in the same shore and to lay their egg at the same beach where they hatched from some 30…40…50…60 years ago.

The Island wonder was lay hidden for a long time, other than once used to be a hiding place by the Vietnamese’s Boat people before been discovered by the authority and was allocated to the Famous Pulau Bidong and as shelter from unseen bad whether. According from my father, Pa says that Pulau Tenggol was famous after some marine-biologist discovered  whale shark, dolphin and large amount of bio-diversities in the water of Tenggol Island and its secret underwater world. This finding were report in the press  and  soon the island was famous and throughout the year many heavenly diving sport was discovered. The local and centre government later to protect and develop it later, gazetted the island as part of Terengganu Marine Park. Where the island are protected by the fishing activities, spear fishing, and collecting the marine life even for study will require a permit and any un-inform building activities are strictly prohibited. Here u can only find one resort, which is the Tenggol Island Resort. In the end the island was never developed as  was a blessing.

With the frequent patrol , strict action and conservation by the Department of Fisheries Malaysia. The island and its diving site are unspoiled and much of the reef remains intact. and the most importantly its is very far from the tourist bee hive like Redang, Perhentian and The Kapas Island and there only one resort here. Thus leaving much of dive site un crowded


I don’t well come green horn’s diver to tenggol island to dive, unless, you are and experience diver or at least an advance level diver before coming here. The Dive master will test your skill in open water at the western bay of Teluk Air Tawar. The current here are at most of the dive site are very unpredictable thus making its quite dangerous for the green horn. and a lot of the famous dive site here should be temp by dive who had large experience in the open water.


The Western Bay of Teluk Air Tawar is a beautiful dive site and a must for and photographer, suitable for everyone can be reach from the beach, the calm seabed slopes gently from the shoreline. Its is very famous because here you can see into a lot of marine life and coral. Many green parrotfish ,sea turtle frequent here to feed, and lots of colourful coral fish like unique parrotfish, Nemo, Yellow tang, Angelfish, ray, Percula clownfish, sea snake, ells, moray and other dangerous sea life like zebra lion fish, Puffer fish, Sea Urchin, Starfish , Lion fish, Coral cat fish, octopus . Garden eel can bee seen poking around the sandy nudibranch and fire coral.

When dark, the bay will be full bloom into life like a big city. colourful night creature can be found almost everywhere. that even two tank will not be enough for photographer and some diver,suring this time most of us need to be more extra carefull as many poisonous creature can be found here that u need to scoured fist before swimming especially when reaching the surface area.

Still don’t lose track of time or your find your self sweep away far away from your group or ended hurt. There had been cases of hard headed tourist, Who didn’t heed any advice and also are to proud with their scuba experience or be little the warning from the Dive instructor that they pay top dollar to local fishemen to bring them here , sometime some of this dive result accident .

Most of the diver that come here are nature lover who is “Hard core Diver” and “seasons diver. there are some who came here during the month august to October to see the whale shark ,but most are here to see the few pod of dophin which frequent the south western side of Pulau Tenggol.

Even the shallow water in front of the resort are a good place for snorkelling for many kind of coral ,brain corals, staghorn corals,blah...blahhh.blah and  the dangerous fire corals. and its denizen.
